Product Description

The Fovitec 8'3" Light Stand is a small, lightweight metal light stand that is perfect for off-camera speedlights and various other small lights. This durable stand can support up to 9 lbs and features a standard 5/8” stud mount with 1/4”-20 thread. The compact size of this stand makes it perfect for the photographer on the move comes with a carry bag for travel.

Some of the products you can use with this stand include:

• Speedlights and small strobes. These stands are the perfect size for speedlights and small strobes with small modifiers. We recommend using softboxes or umbrellas no larger than 33" as larger modifiers can become unstable in the wind.
• Fluorescent lights. These are the standard kits included with all of our fluorescent lighting kits.
• Small LED panels. Use these stands if you want to take your on-camera LED panel off camera. While these are great for small LED panels, we do not recommend them for large LED panels such as our 900 and 1200 Series panels.
• Ring lights. This stand provides the perfect combination of height, stability, and portability, making it ideal for taking your ring light on location.

The Fovitec 8'3" light stand uses a universal 5/8-inch stud mount 1/4"-20 thread. It folds down to less than 30 inches and is lightweight enough to carry around wherever you need it yet sturdy enough to support your equipment. It also features a sleek matte-black finish and secure locking mechanisms. Stability comes standard with this light and reflector stand with its wide base diameter.

Set up with a wide base

Open the stand legs until the crossbars are parallel with the ground. This ensures the widest stand footprint, giving you maximum stability.

Remove the black thread cap

This cap is used to protect the 1/4-20 thread during transit but can prevent your lights from sitting securely on the top of the stand.

Adjust the height

For maximum stability, extend the bottom sections first, and do not fully extend the individual sections unless needed.

Use sandbags when working outside

Sandbags increase stability by adding weight to the base of the stand. These are especially useful when working outside with umbrellas and softboxes. *sandbags sold separately*
